Did you ever have one of those weeks where you just can’t get out of your own way? Where thoughts just swirl around and around and never seem to land anywhere? Well that was my last week.
At the end of the week, I realized I had missed my weekly blog. At first, I said I just plain forgot. But if I’m honest with myself, I just had too many things filling my mind to let the creative juices flow. Without any open space to let new thoughts percolate, not much gets done and no progress is made. And now that I sit down to write, I feel like walking away.
Now, what does that have to do with the problem with money? Good question. Sometimes the lack of solutions to our money problems is like my last week. We have too much going on to be able to step back, get a fresh look and find a creative solution. Instead, we just keep packing more and more into our lives so we can ignore the problems and try to forget them.
But sooner or later we have to come up for air and face the music. The problems are still there but our procrastination made them bigger and “badder” so now we want to run and hide. But running won’t make them go away, they’ll just be trailing behind nipping at our heels and whispering in our ear.
Instead we need to turn around and embrace them. Nine times out of ten, the problems are less daunting and more manageable when we quantify the problems. And once those problems are quantified and we’re ready to tackle them full on, those creative solutions are right there to meet us! Every time.
On the road again…… Feels good.
